William Kent’s Musical CV
Beginings "Zenith" to "Horizon"
Will started playing Bass guitar at the tender, age of 14, when Matt Sanders and (his brother) David Kent, asked him to join their group "Zenith", as they were short of a bassist. James Bobbet was the drummer.
Will was self-taught but he got some tips by the above. He started doing gigs at The Hope in Richmond at the age of 15! It was a bit scary, as at the time, being only 15, there was a problem about me being in a pub! I Managed to look mature enough to blag it so everything turned out all right! We were in a talent competition, and although we did not win it, an agent approached us keen to get us more gigs, ! Nothing came of it because of differences in goals, (He wanted us to do 60s covers) but it’s always nice to be recognized, as a potential talent!

"Alternative Law"
I then started to play with a couple of mates from college, under the name of "Alternative Law" – this consisted of Martin Thorpe, Dave Moore, and Brian Masters.
Our claim to fame was playing on the same bill as "The Big Wednesday", on 3rd November 1990. They played with Blondie, and The Stranglers, at Guilfest 2004.

"The Curse"
At the same time, I was playing in "The Curse", with my brother, James Bobbit, and Joe Gomez. Later on Joe Gomez left, and his Brother Dave took over on the drums and vocals.

"Original Sin"
Dave Gomez found it too much to do both the drums and vocals. They got in a singer Paul "Dame Edna" Etheridge who did a splendid Axl Rose. They did a number of gigs together, but fell out over money. After he left the band we searched fruitlessly for months to find a replacement.
One night in a bar Will found an ‘Elvis impersonator’ called P.J. They rehearsed together and had a few gigs. This would prove to be the eventual demise of Original Sin, as PJ, and Dave Gomez, wanted to be a good covers band, and forget about writing new material. My brother and I, felt our songs/music was strong enough, and good enough, to do our own material. I then stopped playing bass for about 8 years, when my brother, approached me again, and said he was getting a band together, and would like me to join.
So, it has now run a full circle – and now we are back playing better than ever before, and united once more!
And the rest is as they say, the rest is history!
