Guilfest 2024
Guilfest – This great summer live music festival is back again. This time it has returned back to its spiritual home at Stoke Park, Guildford. Deep in the heart of leafy Surrey, in the UK. Guilfest, the winner of the UK’s Beautiful, Beloved and Best Happy Family-friendly festival
Notably, Guilfest was the brainchild of Tony Scott, and it was started in 1992. Originally, it was a folk and blues festival. The last Guilfest, which was held at Stoke Park, was previously in 2014. The previous Guilfest was in 2022 in Cranleigh, Surrey.
The highlight of the Summer
For many years, this festival was the highlight for many music fans. Generally, it is hosted in mid-July; this festival has seen some amazing live acts. Over the years, there have been great A-list acts such as Motörhead, Hawkwind, Marillion, Simple Minds, The Stranglers (Back as headliners this year), Hugh Cornwell (former front man of the Stranglers), The Blockheads (back this year), “From The Jam” (previous members from the Jam but without Paul Weller), The Pretenders, Blue Öyster Cult, Echo and the Bunny-men, Billy Idol, Razorlight and the list goes on and on…
Guilfest is a unique festival
Essentially, what made the festival special was, as well as the great headline acts, the up-and-coming acts were given a chance as well. They began on the lower stages with chances of promotion as the years went by.
The last festival prior to this year was in 2022. The last one at Stoke Park was 2014.
